Whole 30 FINISHED!!!

My Life before Whole 30 – I worked out almost every other day. Have competed in dozens of triathlons including 2 Half Ironman competitions. Ran a half marathon, and many other road races. My eating habits were not great, I figured “Hey I just ran 4 miles I can eat whatever I want.” So of course my body never changed.

– I started at 207lbs
– In August 2012 I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia
– I have always struggled with night terrors and sleep walking
– My stress level was normally elevated
– My jeans wouldn’t fit comfortably
– My shirts had to be large
– I never felt healthy
– Didn’t see any improvement on my CrossFit or my running.

How I found Whole 30 – My wife and I attend CrossFit Katy. Erika has been going since January 2012 & I have been since May 2012. The trainers are amazing there and always talk about Paleo and “Clean Eating.” So one day they talked to my wife about Whole 30 and she brought it home and she asked if I wanted to do it. I said Noooo Way! Then after a few days of her convincing me “we” needed to, we decided to start on September 1st 2012. (She lasted a day and a half. Lol thanks accountability partner).

During my Whole 30 Experience – Starting out was very difficult! Things I love I had to give up: Coffee Creamer / Bread / Cereal (especially late night) / Butter / Protein Shakes / Pizza and all other forms of fattening goodness.
As I got through week 2 my cravings slowed down my headaches went away, and I started feeling amazing, and my hypoglycemia wasn’t a hinderance any more. I had figured out what to eat in any situation that I ordered food. Things were great week 3 & 4

Now that I’ve finished Whole 30 – I have seen noticeable differences in fat loss both in my stomach and my face. My CrossFit training has majorly improved, my running has gotten easier & I’m way more knowledgable on food. I’ve truly enjoyed the challenge and seeing others join me in the journey.

– I started at 207lbs
 – I’ve lost 16lbs
– In August 2012 I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia
– No more signs of it
– I have always struggled with night terrors and sleep walking
   – Hasn’t had one in 30 days
– My stress level was normally elevated
  – Feel way less stress
– My jeans wouldn’t fit comfortable
– I now wear a 32 w/ plenty of room left.
– My shirts had to be large
– Now my large shirts are too big
– I never felt healthy
– I feel awesome!
– Didn’t see any improvement on my CrossFit or my running.
– Have set new max’s on lifting and running the fastest times I’ve ever ran! My recovery time is much faster  as  well.
