Worship – as a Minister/Pastor

“Worship is our response both personal and corporate to God—for who he is and what he has done.” – Louie Giglio

At times in ministry, we can fall into the trap of worshiping only when we are at a worship service. Only when the lights are out, the music is loud, the haze is heavy and emotions are flowing. If this is the moment each week where you take time and worship, then you are confused and need to re-focus your “worship.” God calls us to worship all the time, 24 hours a day. If you see the quote above from Louie, it says “our response both corporate and personal.” Now worship is not just singing songs, it is a life style, it is what you do all the time. It is never ending. We can not get into the habit of only allowing worship to happen on Sundays or Wednesdays, those need to be bonus times to your already continuous worship. Look what the Bible says about worship, Paul says,

Romans 12:1 – So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. (The Message)

My Challenge to you as a minister (not just a paid person in a church, but a CHRISTIAN), is to worship all day long, not just singing songs but RESPONDING TO GOD, for who He is and what He has done in your life
